Arusha National Park Day Trip – Itinerary

📍 Starting Point: Moshi or Arusha

🚐 07:30 AM – Pick-up & Departure

• Early pick-up from your hotel in Moshi or Arusha.

• Begin the scenic drive to Arusha National Park, located just 45 minutes to 1 hour from the city of Arusha.

🌿 08:30 AM – Arrival at Arusha National Park

• Arrive at the park and meet your professional guide.

• Start with an orientation session about the park’s diverse ecosystems and wildlife.

🦁 09:00 AM – Morning Safari Game Drive

• Embark on a morning game drive, exploring the park’s savannah, lakes, and wooded areas.

• Spot giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, flamingos, and various antelope species as you travel through the park.

• Keep an eye out for elusive predators like leopards or smaller mammals such as monkeys.

🌄 10:30 AM – Ngurdoto Crater Viewpoint

• Stop at the Ngurdoto Crater, a volcanic caldera surrounded by lush forests.

• Take in the panoramic views and enjoy a photo opportunity. This area is also known for its rich biodiversity and occasional sightings of buffalo herds and warthogs.

🚶‍♂️ 11:00 AM – Walking Safari with a Ranger

• After the game drive, join a walking safari with a park ranger.

• This experience allows you to explore the park’s forests and Momella Lakes up close while learning about the park’s unique flora and fauna.

• It’s also a great opportunity to spot smaller wildlife like birds, insects, and giraffes at a close distance.

🥗 12:30 PM – Picnic Lunch

• Enjoy a picnic lunch in one of the designated picnic areas within the park.

• Savor a delicious meal of sandwiches, fresh fruits, and snacks while surrounded by nature’s beauty.

🦅 01:30 PM – Visit Momella Lakes

• After lunch, head to the Momella Lakes, a group of seven small lakes that attract flocks of flamingos and other bird species.

• The lakes are also home to a variety of wildlife, including hippos and waterbucks. Enjoy a leisurely walk around the lakes or just sit back and enjoy the serene atmosphere.

🚙 02:30 PM – Afternoon Game Drive & Exploration

• Continue exploring the park with an afternoon game drive, covering areas you may have missed in the morning.

• Depending on the time of year, you may spot wildebeests, giraffes, buffaloes, or even catch a glimpse of a leopard in the trees.

🚐 03:30 PM – Departure from Arusha National Park

• After a day full of exploration and wildlife encounters, we begin the journey back to Moshi or Arusha.
