The Itinerary
Day 1: Welcome to Arusha (The Gateway)
Your adventure begins at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) with our driver meet-and-greet and a private transfer to your hotel. Depending on your arrival, spend the afternoon relaxing at the hotel or walk around Arusha City.
Overnight: Parrot Hotel Arusha or similar mid-range hotel.
Meal Plan: Half Board.
Day 2: Fly to the Serengeti National Park
Take a scenic morning flight over the Rift Valley. Upon landing, your private Lora Adventures guide will be waiting to take you on your first game drive en route to camp.
Overnight: Tamba Tented Camp or similar mid-range accommodation.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Days 3–4: Full Days in the Serengeti
Two full days are dedicated to tracking the Great Migration and the “Big Five.” Your guide will tailor these days to your interests—whether that’s focusing on the big cats on the kopjes or the hippos in the river areas.
- Optional: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari with a champagne bush breakfast.
Overnight: Tamba Tented Camp or similar mid-range accommodation.

Day 5: Fly to Manyara & The Ngorongoro Crater
After a final Serengeti breakfast, take a short scenic flight to the Manyara Airport. From here, we drive to Ngorongoro Conservation Area where we will descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater floor for a dense wildlife experience, including a chance to see the rare Black Rhino
Overnight: Bouganivillea Safari Lodge or similar mid-range lodge.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 6: Fly to Zanzibar Island
Instead of a 4-hour drive back to Arusha, we take a direct flight from Manyara Airport to Zanzibar. You will swap the crater highlands for the turquoise Indian Ocean by lunchtime. You will settle at a hotel in Stone Town.
Overnight: Golden Tulip Stone Town Boutique or similar mid-range hotel.

Days 7: Prison Island & Nakupenda Sandbank
After breakfast, take a boat to Prison Island to visit the historic grounds and see the Aldabra giant tortoises in their sanctuary.
Continue by boat to Nakupenda Sandbank for swimming in clear shallow waters, relaxing on the white sand, and enjoying fresh tropical fruits and lunch.
Return in the afternoon for a guided walking tour of Stone Town, exploring narrow streets, markets, carved doors, and coastal landmarks.
Overnight: Golden Tulip Stone Town Boutique or similar mid-range hotel.

Days 8: Safari Blue Tour
After breakfast, depart for a full-day Safari Blue tour in the waters of Menai Bay Conservation Area. Sail by traditional dhow with stops for snorkeling over coral reefs, swimming in clear lagoons, and relaxing on a sandbank. Enjoy fresh tropical fruits and a seafood lunch on one of the small islands.
Return in the evening for a guided walking tour of Stone Town, then spend a relaxed evening at Forodhani Gardens.

Day 9: Relaxed Departure
Enjoy a final slow morning. There is no rush; our driver will coordinate your private transfer to Zanzibar International Airport (ZNZ) in time for your flight home.

What is the luggage limit for these flights?
Due to the small aircraft, there is a strict limit of 15kg (33lbs) per person in soft-sided bags. We can assist with storage for excess luggage in Arusha if necessary.
Will I see the Great Migration on this trip?
