Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
A representative from Lora Adventures Africa will meet you at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha.
Arusha is a lively city sitting at the base of Mount Meru and the starting point for most northern Tanzania adventures. If you arrive during the day, the town centre is worth a short walk. Your safari begins the following morning with a flight into the Serengeti.

Day 2: Flight to the Serengeti
After breakfast, we transfer you to the airport for your morning flight to Seronera Airstrip in central Serengeti. The aerial view of the Rift Valley and the plains below is a good introduction to the landscape you are about to explore.
Your guide meets you at the airstrip and the game drive begins shortly after landing. We drive through the central Serengeti toward camp, stopping wherever wildlife activity warrants it, with a picnic lunch in the field along the way.

Days 3–4: Full Days in the Serengeti
Two full days with no transfers and no other parks. This is where the trip settles into its best rhythm.
Early mornings are the most productive time to be in the field. Your guide will plan each day around current wildlife movements, covering different parts of the park so the two days feel distinct. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and buffalo all live in the Serengeti, and with two full days you have time to follow whatever the bush presents without rushing back to an airstrip.
Depending on the time of year, the Great Migration herds may be moving through the area. Migration patterns follow the rains and cannot be predicted precisely, but your guide will position you in the best area based on current conditions.
Picnic lunches are in the field and evenings are at camp.
Highlight: Optional sunrise hot air balloon flight over the plains.

Day 5: Serengeti to Zanzibar, with a Stop in Stone Town
After a final morning game drive, we transfer to the airstrip for a direct flight to Zanzibar. The transition from the open savannah to the Indian Ocean coast happens in a matter of hours.
Before heading to your hotel in Nungwi, we stop briefly in Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most historically rich places in East Africa. The narrow streets, carved wooden doors, and blend of Arab, Indian, and Swahili architecture are unlike anywhere else in Tanzania. It is also a good opportunity for souvenir shopping. The spice stalls and craft shops around Darajani Market carry spices, handmade jewellery, Zanzibar chests, Tinga Tinga paintings, and locally made fabrics.

Day 6: Dolphins, Mnemba Atoll and Turtles
An early start for a boat excursion departing directly from Nungwi beach. The boat heads out toward Mnemba Atoll in search of dolphins. Spinner and bottlenose dolphins are commonly seen in these waters, and swimming alongside them is sometimes possible depending on conditions on the day.
After the dolphin encounter, the boat continues to Mnemba Atoll, one of the best snorkelling spots in Zanzibar. The coral reef around the atoll supports a rich variety of marine life, and the water clarity here is excellent.
After returning to Nungwi, we visit Baraka Natural Aquarium, a small conservation facility where rescued sea turtles are rehabilitated. You can swim in the lagoon alongside them before they are eventually released back into the ocean.

Day 7: Nungwi Beach and Sunset Dhow Cruise
Enjoy a relaxed day at leisure to rest, swim, or spend time on the shore at Nungwi Beach.
A free day at Nungwi. The beach here is one of the best on the island, with calm, clear water and white sand. How you spend the day is entirely up to you.
In the late afternoon, we head out on a traditional wooden dhow for a sunset cruise along the coast. The light at that hour over the Indian Ocean is worth staying on deck for. The boat returns after sunset.

Day 8: Departure
A relaxed final day. Nungwi Beach is right there if you want one last swim before leaving.
When you are ready, our representative will transfer you to Abeid Amani Karume International Airport (ZNZ) for your departure flight.

When is the best time for the Great Migration?
The migration is a year-round cycle. We customize your fly-in camp location to ensure you are as close to the herds as possible, whether they are in the south for calving (Jan–Mar) or the north for river crossings (July–Oct).
What is the luggage limit for bush flights?
Due to the size of the aircraft, there is a strict limit of 15kg (33lbs) per person in soft-sided bags. We can help arrange storage for any excess luggage in Arusha if needed.
Do I need a visa for Tanzania?
Yes. Most travelers require a visa. We recommend applying for a Tanzania e-Visa online at least two weeks before arrival to ensure a smooth entry process.
How is the internet connectivity?
While luxury lodges and camps offer Wi-Fi, it can be intermittent in the heart of the bush. It is perfect for checking emails or sending photos, but we encourage guests to embrace the “unplugged” experience.
