Tour Plan

Arrival in Arusha

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), a representative from Lora Adventures Africa will meet you and transfer you to your hotel in Arusha, where you can relax and recover before your safari begins.

If you are already staying in Arusha, no problem we will catch up with you the following day when the tour starts.

If you are arriving from another destination within Tanzania, we will arrange pickup directly from an agreed meeting point.

Your 4-day Tanzania safari officially begins the following morning with a safari briefing and departure to the parks.

Overnight (Arranged by Lora Adventures): Parrot Hotel Arusha or similar mid-range hotel.

After a morning briefing, we pick you up from your hotel in Arusha and drive about 2.5 hours to Tarangire National Park.

Tarangire is one of Tanzania’s finest parks and a great place to start a safari. The park is known for having some of the largest elephant herds in the country, and in the dry season you can find dozens of them gathering around the Tarangire River. The landscape is open savannah dotted with ancient baobab trees, which makes for beautiful game viewing. Lions, leopards, giraffes, and buffalo are all common sightings.

We spend the afternoon on a game drive with a picnic lunch inside the park, then head to a lodge near Karatu for the evening.

Overnight: Bouganivillea Safari Lodge or similar mid-range lodge.

Meal Plan: Lunch and Dinner

We have an early breakfast and drive about 30 to 45 minutes to the Ngorongoro Crater, descending into the caldera for a morning game drive.

The crater floor covers about 260 square kilometres and supports a remarkable variety of wildlife. Black rhino, lion, elephant, buffalo, hippo, and hyena all live within its walls, making every drive a different experience. After three to four hours inside, we have a picnic lunch, then continue driving west toward the Serengeti, arriving in the late afternoon.

The Serengeti is vast. As you enter, the plains open up in every direction, and wildlife encounters can begin even before you reach camp.

Overnight: Tamba Tented Camp  or similar mid-range accommodation.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

A full day in the Serengeti is what this safari is built around.

We start with an early morning game drive, which is the best time to catch predators still active from the night. You may witness lions resting after a kill, cheetahs scanning the plains, leopards retreating to their trees. The Serengeti has the highest density of large predators in Africa, and a full day gives us the time to follow the action properly.

In the afternoon we explore different areas of the park based on where the wildlife is moving. Your guide knows the park well and will adjust the game drive accordingly. We return to camp in the evening for dinner.

Overnight: Tamba Tented Camp  or similar mid-range accommodation.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

We do one final game drive in the early morning before leaving the Serengeti. It is a good opportunity to catch anything you may have missed, and the light at that hour is worth waking up for.

After the drive we pack up, have a picnic lunch, and begin the drive back to Arusha. The journey takes around 8 hours, with scenic stops along the way. We will drop you at your hotel or the airport depending on your plans.
